Jamie has a broad common law practice and accepts instructions in a range of civil and family matters. He has received praise for his fluent advocacy, thorough case preparation and pragmatic advice. 

Personal Injury / Clinical Negligence

Jamie has acted in several cases arising out of road traffic accidents, as well as employers’ liability and public liability claims. He regularly appears in fast track trials, small claims matters and CCMCs.


Jamie accepts instructions in all areas of employment law, acting for both employees and employers. He has acted in cases involving complaints of discrimination, harassment, victimisation, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and breach of the Working Time Regulations.


Jamie has a developing practice in the area of inquests and coronial law. He is currently instructed as junior counsel to the inquests arising out of the seven deaths caused by the Croydon tram derailment in November 2016. He is also currently instructed to act on behalf of a family in an inquest relating to a student death.  


Jamie acts for both landlords (social and private) and tenants in possession claims and disrepair cases. Jamie also regularly appears in applications made under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, as well as in committal hearings.


Jamie has advised and acted in various cases relating to business-to-business and business-to-consumer contractual disputes, as well as various debt claims.


Jamie has experience of both private and public family law. He has acted in several cases relating to child arrangements applications and applications under the Family Law Act 1996, as well as on behalf of local authorities and parents in care proceedings. He has also appeared in an appeal relating to a transfer of tenancy from an ex-wife to her ex-husband.
